| Comments: | One of my favorite part of Philippine history is when "Gen.McArthur and his men came back to leyte to rescue the filipino people from Japanese occupation.I think the men of Gen.McArthur also deserve credit. It's a monument that can be found in Leyte, Philippines. |

| Comments: | This is the exact place where Gen.MacArthur and his allied forces landed on October 1944, as told by my uncle and elderly who witnessed the event. It is also written in history books. Veterans and civilians who were here are witnesses and some of them are still living today. Some Dulag residents claim that the actual landing took place in Dulag - Not true. The truth is already in history books and historians can't be wrong in writing the fact of the event. Yes. There were so many landings that took place in the Leyte Gulf simultaneous with the landings of Gen. MacArthur and his Allied Forces in Red Beach, Palo, Leyte. There were also allied forces who landed in San Jose (White Beach), Tacloban up to the beaches in Dulag, but Gen. MacArthur landed in Red Beach. |

| Comments: | It was constructed too far away in the wrong place by the officials of the Philippine govt for reasons only known to them. The exact place where McArthur landed was the 5 km beach between San Jose and Dulag town. Hill 120 was the exact place where the American flag was first raised when McArthur returned as he promised. Our parents have witnessed the historic event of the American arrival and even reliable WWII history books will prove this fact. Our granparents property in San Jose, which was used by the Americans as depot during their landing was also compesated by the Americans for the damages in crops and property |
